  8. Hi Ryan, this post is really a killer blog post as I have got a lot about blogging. I also run a small blog of my own, what do you think about making use of your tips and moving away from blogspot?

    • Thanks for the kind words, Abraham! I’d absolutely recommend moving away from Blogspot as soon as you’re able to (and have the budget to go with a self-hosted WordPress powered blog) for all of the reasons I talk about throughout this guide—especially when it comes to the monetization capabilities 🙂

      Wishing you luck!

  9. Ryan, phenomenal post — can’t thank you enough for writing it. I have a question regarding niche ideas for a blog. I thought about starting a faith-based blog specifically focused on the writings of C. S. Lewis. But I’m afraid that’s a little bit too narrow and wouldn’t allow me to write broadly about other books, ideas, or topics in culture. From the expertise you have on monetization, do you have any input about what might work best? Really appreciate your thoughts!

    • Thanks for the kind words, Chase! I’ll be honest, your idea is very niche—quite possibly too niche to be the sole focus of a blog, but certainly a topic that could be rolled into a blog that also covers insights & lessons to be learned from other similar authors along the same vein as C.S. Lewis. I think you’re right in leaning further into other books and ideas that have a similar thread, but start with what gives you the most energy and see where it leads you! The topics you first publish about will likely change and adapt over time, anyway 🙂
