  1. Hi, Ryan! Thanks for such a detailed post! I have one question… You said that I can change blog name (domain) at any time in the future… Ok, technically I can: create new domain and setup redirect to it from older domain. But what about Domain Authority? Changing domain eleminate any achivements in DA!

    • You’re welcome, Sergey! Great question. If you do the redirect to your new domain name (properly), then your domain authority from the previous site should (over some time, yes) flow fully over to the new domain—especially if you’re migrating all of your existing posts & pages as-is. So in short, there may be a brief period of time where search engines are figuring out “what to do” with this new domain, but if you do all your redirects properly, you shouldn’t experience a very long dip.

  2. That was so informative, thank you! There’s so much to take in, but I do have a question? Should we focus on optimizing content or putting out fresh articles first?

    • You’re welcome, Craig! Glad you found my guide so useful 🙂

And great question—I think the answer usually lies in striking a balance between the two. Search engines like to see fresh content coming out of websites as a positive sign they’re being regularly contributed to… but it’s not the end of the world if you take some breaks here and there to instead focus on optimizing your existing content. Personally, I try to publish 2-3 new (usually quite long-form) articles on my blog each month and update 1-2 of my important articles alongside that new content work. Some months I don’t hit this balance exactly, but that’s the kind of target I aim for.

  8. Hello ryan sir,
I am a big fan of your blog. I have been blogging since 2017 but still struggling to get traffic from Google.

I’ve tried Pinterest to drive traffic for a few months. However, I was able to get 30K/mo visits per month from Pinterest in the initial months, but now that’s gone.

I also tried link building to drive traffic form google but failed measurably.

Now I’m confused and need help! (I’m on do or die)

    Please help me!

    • Traffic from organic Google search definitely takes time to build up, there’s no way around that. Consistent effort at guest posting (to build high quality links to your content and get some spikes in traffic) is without a doubt the way to go. Focus on guest posting instead of just link building. You want to get ONLY high quality links from real websites where you can write useful content for their audiences and get a link or two back in return for your effort. Pinterest can be great too, but you have to stay consistent in publishing a good amount of pins every week in order to stay fresh & relevant.

  11. I have been using Bluehost for years now with little complaint. This past year I tried adding SiteLock security through Bluehost. If you’re looking to host with Bluehost I think it’s great, but I would caution against going through them for additional services.

  12. Hello Ryan Robinson, I just want to say that you where so detailed in your explanation which I’m very grateful for but as a beginner it’s kinda complex and complicated (lol just a little) so I want to know if you’ve got a YouTube video, that explicitly explain all about blogging for beginners, thank you 😃

  14. Appreciate you sharing what is clearly a passion of yours and something you put your heart into. As a new bud on the tree, even your “beginner” content seems to leave me with cookie monster eyes. Business strategy, robust keyword/phrase research, or just jump in and make a site??? Where to ACTUALLY start?
Thanks for all your effort and generosity!

    • I get that, Mike! It’s a BIG new world of things to open up when you start blogging. I 100% believe the only way to make real progress with blogging is to jump in head first with creating your site (following the tutorial steps here will set you up right) and know that the rest of your learning will come in the field as you get going. It takes time to pick up all the skills and learn all of the things 🙂
